How to Stream on Roku via Screen Mirroring

Streaming content to your Roku device via screen mirroring is a simple and effective way to enjoy your USTVNow subscription on a bigger screen. Follow this guide to get started, whether you're using a Windows PC, Android device, or Apple product.

🔍 What is Screen Mirroring?

Screen mirroring allows you to project the display of your smartphone, tablet, or computer onto your Roku-enabled TV. This means whatever you see on your device—videos, photos, apps—appears on your TV screen in real time.

Requirements for Screen Mirroring

Before getting started, make sure the following conditions are met:

  • Compatible Roku device: Most Roku models support screen mirroring. Ensure your Roku software is updated (Settings > System > System update).

  • Wi-Fi Connection: Both your Roku and your casting device must be on the same Wi-Fi network.

  • Supported device:

    • Windows 10/11 PC

    • Android (version 4.2 or later)

    • Apple devices (require AirPlay, not traditional mirroring—see AirPlay section below)

🖥️ How to Mirror from a Windows PC

  1. Enable mirroring on Roku:

    • Go to Settings > System > Screen mirroring > Screen mirroring mode.

    • Choose Prompt or Always allow.

  2. Connect from Windows:

    • Press Windows Key + K or go to Action Center > Connect.

    • Select your Roku device from the list.

  3. Approve on Roku (if set to Prompt).

    • Accept the request on your TV using the Roku remote.

📱 How to Mirror from an Android Device

Note: Steps may vary slightly based on device manufacturer.

  1. Enable mirroring on Roku (same as above).

  2. Enable mirroring on Android:

    • Look for options like Smart View, Cast, Screen Cast, or Wireless Display.

    • Open your device’s Settings > Connected devices > Cast.

    • Select your Roku from the list.

  3. Approve the connection on your Roku if prompted.

🍎 Can I Mirror from iPhone or iPad?

Apple devices don’t support traditional screen mirroring to Roku but AirPlay is available on most Roku models.

To use AirPlay:

  1. On your Roku, go to Settings > Apple AirPlay and HomeKit and turn on AirPlay.

  2. On your iOS device:

    • Open Control Center, tap Screen Mirroring, and choose your Roku.

  3. Enter the code shown on your TV if prompted.

🚫 Troubleshooting Tips

  • Devices not appearing? Ensure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.

  • Lag or disconnection? Try restarting your Roku and your casting device.

  • Still stuck? Update your Roku and device software to the latest versions.
